Trump insists on stealing his re-election

In a 14-page letter to House caucus chair Penny Thompson, Trump reiterated his allegations about the alleged theft of his re-election bid and shied away from answering whether he would testify about his role in the events of January 6 last year, he said.

The media highlighted that the letter, which is not an official response to his request to appear in court, contains a new lawsuit over what the former president considered massive electoral fraud.

It also includes many images aimed at showing the number of supporters who supported him in his rally, in addition to the collapse of voting behavior in the 2020 elections in five states, where Trump lost and was the key to his re-election, according to Hill noted.

He again questioned the commission’s ongoing investigation, which he described as a hundreds of millions of dollars scam and witch-hunt against what he described as concerned citizens protesting the fraud.

California Representative Adam Schiff wrote on his Twitter account that Trump’s memo is not a substitute for sworn testimony and that he expects a serious response from the former president.

He stressed that “seven former presidents have fulfilled their responsibility to appear before Congress, and Trump should do the same.” In a unanimous vote, the day before, the said House of Representatives committee requested that the former president be brought to the podium to explain his role in the violent unrest in January 2021 to hundreds of his supporters at the Capitol.

Specifically, the members of the select group attempt to show that the former president is solely responsible for the rioting and mayhem in the Capitol with his complaints of irregularities in the 2020 presidential election.
