The UK Nursing Federation has announced a strike

LONDON, NOV 10 – The Royal College of Nursing’s consortium, which includes nurses from the UK’s National Health Service (NHS, for its English acronym), set out this Wednesday that they will strike before the end of 2022 to reject the working conditions in which they work, As reported by BBC World.

The union organization demands fair wages and safe employment. “The results of our largest strike in history show that a record number of nursing staff are ready to join the picket line this winter,” the union said in a statement.

For her part, the Royal College of Nursing’s general secretary, Pat Cullen, said the annoyance “has turned into action and our members have said enough is enough. The voice of UK nursing is strong and I will make sure it is heard”.

The union insisted that all NHS employers in Northern Ireland and Scotland be included. She stressed that “all but one health boards in Wales have met the relevant statutory limits”.

“Members working at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, opposite the House of Commons, will strike, as will members working in other major hospitals in the capitals of the United Kingdom: the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff and the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

In this sense, Pat Cullen emphasized that this is a defining moment in the history of the Guild. She added that they will continue their struggle through the strike and beyond for as long as it takes to achieve justice for the nursing profession and patients.
