Beirut, October 17 (Prensa Latina) Today in Lebanon, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan described the Israeli bombing of the Palestinian people in Gaza as unacceptable and unprecedented.

During a press conference at the headquarters of the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Turkish Minister expressed his regret for the killing of a large number of Palestinian civilians, as well as the cutting of electricity, water and fuel to the Strip.

Ankara’s head of diplomacy stressed that his country is continuing its efforts in two directions: preventing the expansion of clashes and the necessity of quickly delivering aid to Gaza.

At the same time, Fidan proposed establishing a mediation mechanism between Israel and Palestine with the guarantor countries, including Turkey, to find a way out of the crisis.

He believes that the time has come for the international community to take a step towards establishing a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 borders.

The Commission announced that the foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will hold a meeting tomorrow in Jeddah to discuss the situation in Gaza.

For his part, Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bouhabib said that the Israeli attacks in the south are causing tension on the front that is difficult to contain.

In this sense, he added that the Israeli attacks on the country’s southern borders constitute a violation of UN Security Council Resolution No. 1701.

During his stay in Beirut, Fidan held meetings with the Prime Minister of the Interim Government, Najib Mikati, and the Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun.
