The President of Honduras received Bukele after his virtual electoral victory

“With the utmost respect and appreciation, I wish you success in your new term,” the Central American governor wrote on her official personal page.

The Supreme Electoral Court has not yet confirmed Bukele's victory in Sunday's elections, but the governor declared victory, saying in a message to the nation that his people had broken all voting records globally.

Press reports published that the multidisciplinary consulting firm in development SA (CID-Gallup) indicated that the president had won 87 percent of the votes.

Minister Hector Manuel Zelaya also spoke from Honduras, who celebrated this result on the aforementioned digital platform and added that the support of the people reflects the trust placed in his leadership.

He said: “The will of the people, from which the true powers of the nation emerge, is sacred and always deserves all respect.”

For his part, the President of the National Congress of Honduras, Luis Redondo, conveyed a message of congratulations to the Salvadoran people and government on the development of Election Day.
