Netflix decided not to move forward with “The Lockwood Agency”. The supernatural detective series ‘The Lockwood Agency’, based on Jonathan Stroud’s novels of the same name, was developed by Joe Cornish under his full fantasy imprint and premiered on Netflix in January this year.

Starring Ruby Stokes as Lucy Carlyle, a teenage ghost hunter with a tragic past, teams up with Anthony Lockwood (Cameron Chapman) and George Karim (Ali Haji Hashmati) to form a ghost hunting agency that specializes in dealing with evil spirits.

According to Variety, while Netflix was very pleased with the series and especially the work put into it, the viewing figures fell short of approval for a second season.

But Complete Fiction, which Cornish founded alongside Edgar Wright, Nira Park, and Rachael Prior, will continue to work with Netflix. The companies already have several projects under development.

With the series’ cancellation, fans will always have Jonathan Stroud’s books published by Editorial Hidra in Spain. Of the five novels that make up the saga, the publisher has published the first three to date: Screaming ladderAnd Skull whispered And Empty boy. For its part, on May 22, the first installments of Stroud’s new literary epic will hit bookstores, Scarlett and Brown song that Prime Video will be made into a movie with Phoebe Dynevor (The Bridgertons) as the protagonist.
