The Finnish film “Cabin No. 6” is shown in a double session on Friday with Cineclub Almería

A new season of Cineclub Almería runs until March 31, an initiative organized by La Factoría and the Ministry of Culture and Education of the City Council of Almería, which brings again the best independent cinema from around the world this winter and in the original version on the screen of the Teatro Apollo, on its 20th anniversary . This week’s date will be Friday, February 24, with the Finnish film “Cabin No. 6” screening, in double screening, at 6:30pm and 8:30pm.

It is a film directed by Juho Kusmanen, author of Rosa Lexon’s novel adaptation, alongside Andres Feldmanis and Livia Ullmann. The cast is led by Sir Harla, Yuriev Borisov, Dinara Drokarova and Vladimir Lysenko, and Galina Petrova, Dmitriy Pelenikin, Yulia Og, Tommy Alatalo, Nadezhda Kulakova and Polina August complete the cast.

Among his accolades are the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and nominations for Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globes and César Awards, and for Best Film, Actress and Actor at the European Film Awards.

The synopsis is this: A young Finnish university student takes the train to Moscow to go to the archaeological site of Murmansk. There he will have to share his cabin with a stranger, a Russian miner. This coexistence and some unlikely encounters will gradually unite these two diametrically opposed beings.

It must be remembered that the Cineclub presents for the first time in this edition, on its 20th anniversary, the piece “Before the expected”, composed by Juan Manuel Cedrón, added as a soundtrack for the celebration and also included in this quarter cycle “Chord = a² + b²”, directed by Almería director Juan Francisco Viruega.

All of this quarter’s movies are sold online at the Apollo box office and at https://almeriaculturaentradas.es/. Tickets are €4.50, with a discount for the university community at the second session, in which case it applies only to purchases at the box office.
