Strikes at the Faculty of Political Sciences UNAM for these reasons

Mexico City (apro).- The student assembly of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (FCPyS) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) called this week for a series of strikes in relation to the conflicts taking place in the country. through . .

Student council members decided last Monday afternoon that FCPyS would go on strike on three different dates, September 26th, 28th, and October 2nd.

On Monday night, the faculty was seized over the nine years since the disappearance of 43 students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Normal School. The strike ended on Tuesday at approximately 9:00 pm, and the facilities were returned to the college administration, with classes scheduled to return on Wednesday.

On Wednesday afternoon, the feminist association Rabia Inkabushada expelled the Organization of the Struggle for Popular Liberation (OLEP), which occupied a student booth in the facilities. The previous afternoon, while the faculty was on strike, his belongings were taken from the room.

The feminist group sought to expel OLEP members for defending and covering up Fabrizio Chavez, a member of the organization accused of harassing a student. Moqnad Rabia was able to expel OLEP with the support of the student community present, while members of the administration tried to mediate the situation.

Among the complaints directed at OLEP, college students and the group expressed concern, because this organization is mostly made up of people outside the student body. Previously, complaints were received about the sexual and aggressive treatment of members of the organization, which although it claims popular struggle, is completely unacceptable by college students.
