To learn more about the processes and procedures implemented by the CONRED Executive Secretariat in response to adverse events, His Excellency Mr. Nick Whittingham, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Guatemala and their representatives visited the Embassy.
He was received by the Executive Secretary of CONRED, Claudine Ugaldes, who developed part of the first response operations carried out by the CONRED system, through the different levels created in a gradual manner, such as the local, municipal, departmental, regional and national levels.
During the tour, the distinguished visitor visited the Emergency Operations Center (COE) where information is coordinated and response resources are effectively used during an emergency, with representatives of different institutions according to their tasks and procedures specified in the National Response Plan.
In addition to the importance of the Center for Coordination of Humanitarian Aid and Aid (CCAH) in improving resources and verifying the management of international humanitarian aid and assistance in accordance with the requirements raised in the international appeal; response teams and the operation of logistics operations in the institution.
Through guided tours, the knowledge and participation of the institutions and organizations that make up the CONRED system is enhanced, and a culture of prevention is promoted with an emphasis on comprehensive risk management and communication with the international community, being fundamental in supporting the response to emergencies or disasters in the country.
