HAVANA, Aug. 6 (RHC) Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister, Carlos Fernandez de Cosio, on Saturday thanked demonstrations for assistance from organizations and people from the United States, and offered technical advice from the government to tackle the fire. in the city of Matanzas.

“We deeply appreciate condolences and expressions of assistance from various organizations and persons from the United States on the occasion of the incident in #Matanzas, including the United States Government, which provided technical advice, a proposal already in the hands of professionals for proper coordination,” emphasized a diplomat from Akbar Antilles.

In this sense, the Cuban President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, thanked on the social network Twitter for the presentation of technical advice by the US government and expressed his deep gratitude to the governments of Mexico, Venezuela, Russia, Nicaragua, Argentina and Chile for the prompt assistance provided in the face of the complex situation.

The Embassy of the United States of America in Cuba confirmed in the same social network that it is in contact with the authorities of our country regarding the large-scale incident that occurred in the Western Province.

“We want to make it clear that US law authorizes US entities and organizations to provide and respond to disaster relief in Cuba,” the diplomatic office said.

On Saturday morning, the largest of the Antilles asked international help and advice from countries with expertise in the oil issue to put out the flames that are still out of control.

Work is underway to contain the flames in the ore deposits that were burnt in the Matanzas Industrial Estate after the effect of an electrical discharge in one of them.
