Mexico City, March 14 (Radio Havana Cuba) The delegation that will attend the 28th National Meeting of Mexico's Solidarity with Cuba this Thursday participated in the Senate's tribute to the liberator Simón Bolívar.

The Senate held a commemorative ceremony commemorating the bicentenary of the historic appointment of Simón Bolívar as an honorary citizen of Mexico, at the Constituent Congress of 1824.

There, members of the Republic's Senate from various parties received visitors from the island, exchanged congratulations, and affirmed the good relations between the peoples of the two countries.

The delegation will participate in the national meeting organized annually by the Mexican Solidarity Movement with Cuba with the support of other friendship institutions and the Jose Martí Association of Cuban Residents.

The island's representative is headed by Noemi Rabaza Fernandez, First Vice President of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples (ICAP), Aleida Guevara March, daughter of Che, First Colonel Orlando Cardoso Villavicencio, Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Hassan Perez. Casabona, a researcher from the Center for Hemispheric and United States Studies at the University of Havana.

The committee also consists of José Ernesto Novaez Guerrero, coordinator of the Cuban branch of the Network for the Defense of Humanity, Alfredo Díaz Fuente, director of the ICAP Amistur travel agency, the Cuban ambassador to Mexico, Marcos Rodriguez, and diplomatic staff. (R L)
