Producers defend Kevin Spacey over new UK sexual assault charges


New criminal charges of sexual assault against Kevin Spacey, have emerged in this UK case. The British Special Crimes Squad announced, on Thursday, that the 62-year-old actor is considering four charges of sexually assaulting three men in their 30s and 40s.

The producers of Spacey’s latest movie, “Peter Five Eight,” have supported the Oscar winner as he tries to revive his film career. “While it is unfortunate that the surge in negative press has coincided with Kevin’s return to work, it is also expected. There are those who wish he would not perform, but fans around the world outnumber them waiting for the artist they have enjoyed for decades to return to the screen.”

This message, According to The Hollywood Reporter, by sponsors of the mystery thriller, which was purchased at Cannes last week. “Production has no knowledge or comment on the various allegations, and I believe it is up to the courts to determine the validity, if any,” the statement added. Peter Five Eight is a movie for fans who are ‘more interested in art than scandal’.

The film sees Spacey return to the movies after allegations of sexual assault and misconduct derailed his career in 2017, at the height of the #MeToo movement. The actor was removed from the lead role in Netflix’s “House of Cards” and reprized his role in Ridley Scott’s “All the Money in the World” with Christopher Plummer replacing the actor.
