MSP will bring health and wellness to Salinas

A team of physicians and mental health professionals will provide free services to all citizens attending Salinas Public Square on October 1 from 9:00 a.m.

Residents of the municipality of Salinas and neighboring towns may participate in it Health Galleryan event for the Journal of Medicine and Public Health that seeks to provide medical care to Puerto Rican residents affected by the passage of Hurricane Fiona, Vaccinespsychological assistance, medical supplies, food, among others.

Support from the Ministry of Health Puerto Rico

The Minister of Health, Dr. Carlos Melado Lopez, stated: “Once again, we are joining forces between the public and private sectors, prioritizing the health of our people and supporting all emergency response efforts. Our priority is to protect the population after the impact Fiona has left us. I thank all collaborators for their commitment to providing health. and promoting the well-being of the peoples and societies of the South. Holistic health will remain our focus.”

For her part, ASES Director of Health Insurance, Edna Marin Ramos, announced that for this important effort, doctors, insurance companies, government agencies, non-profit organizations and private companies, have come together to encourage them to provide various aid. for the inhabitants of the southern region, in particular the inhabitants of the municipality of Salinas; “Our goal is to bring services closer to people in times of greatest need after Fiona’s attack on the island,” said Marin.

Multiple efforts and entities join this initiative

Department of Health, ASES, Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Pregnant, Lactating, Postpartum, Infants, and Children (WIC), Journal of Medicine and Public Health, MMM, Abbvie, Voces, Heroes for Champions, Mennonite Health System, Renal Council on Public Relations and the Diabetes Association of Puerto Rico are part of Invited to the exhibition.

Additionally, Dr. Carlos Melado confirmed that the WIC Mobile Unit will be available to attend new certifications and assessments, hand out EBT cards to participants, and assist with any other needs. Likewise, Medicaid staff will perform eligibility and qualification processes for Vital Medicaid, among other services.

Complementary and entertaining programming

To ease the tension the residents are experiencing due to the influences left by Fiona, attendees will also be able to enjoy a show Puerto Rico Gana and his artist Alex DJ as well as the talent of Eddie Ramírez imitate Juan Gabriel. They will be joined by Juan Vélez, Suzette Paco, Normando Valentine and Rafael José as part of the public figures that will participate in the animation of the activity.
