More than 500 Cuban professionals already provide health services in Mexico – Escambray

Cuban doctors are an important part of the health plan that aims to place Mexico among the most advanced countries in this field, with completely free benefits, including medicines.

Mexico already has, in 12 entities in the country, the services of 552 Cuban doctors, said yesterday the director of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), Zoe Robledo, who gave details of health programs at the morning press conference, the National Palace, chaired by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Of the total number of doctors from the Greater Antilles, Robledo explained, “68 specialists have already transferred to the units where they will serve.”

According to the conference, the official explained that they specialize in geriatrics, dermatology, allergies, rehabilitation and internal medicine, among others, and will contribute to the medical care of the population. Robledo gave an account of the group’s work in hospitals in various states such as Colima, Guerrero, Michoacan, Oaxaca, Zacatecas, and Morelos.
