LED ZEPPELIN PREPARING FOR THE “Celebration Day”

LED ZEPPELIN will celebrate the 15th anniversary of their reunion concert at the O2 Arena with the “Celebration Day” live broadcast event

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of LED ZEPPELIN’s historic live performance at London’s O2 Arena, this Saturday, December 10th at 8pm UK / 3pm EST / 12pm PST on LED ZEPPELIN’s official YouTube channel, “Day Celebration”, the resulting film of the concert, will be broadcast.

Recorded live on December 10, 2007, the film depicts a crushing tour of over two hours of blues-influenced rock and roll that instantly became a part of LED ZEPPELIN legend. Founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant join Jason Bonham, son of the late drummer John Bonham, to perform 16 songs from their famous catalog, including such iconic tracks as “Whole Lotta Love,” “Rock And Roll,” and “Kashmir.” and “Stairway to Heaven”.

Celebration Day was released worldwide by Omniverse Vision on 1,500 screens in over 40 territories in October 2012.

LED ZEPPELIN gathered with the press in September 2012 in London to present “Celebration Day”. Page told reporters he was delighted with Jason Bonham filling in for John Bonham’s performance, saying: “Jason was absolutely phenomenal. From first rehearsal to the O2.” He drove us, you know? It was weird and weird at times, but it was so rewarding for all of us.”

When asked why it took five years for the 2007 reunion to see the light of day, Jones quipped, “Five years is like five minutes of Zeppelin time.”

After the O2 Arena concert, Page and Jones were looking for a way to carry on and tried out several singers, including AEROSMITH’s Steven Tyler and ALTER BRIDGE’s Miles Kennedy.

The option for a three-way ZEPPELIN reunion ended when Jones accepted an offer to form the Eagles with Dave Grohl and Josh Homme. Page later said, “I think that was a very definitive statement.”

The “LED ZEPPELIN thing” is never far from people’s lips, Page said, joking: “People ask me almost every day about a possible reunion. The answer is no. Passed [más de una década] from O2. There is always the possibility that I will be dug up and put on stage in a coffin and put on tape.”
