Today’s Keys: Germany has only two and a half months to go if Russia decides to cut off gas. UK Eye

Germany will only have two and a half months of margin if Russia finally decides to cut off gas.

In its struggle to get enough fuel to beat next winter, even if natural gas stocks can meet the country’s goal of being 95% full by November, that will only cover about two and a half months of demand if Russia cuts supplies completely, according to the energy regulator at country.

Inventory is currently 77% full, two weeks ahead of schedule. Sweden relies on a former oil-fired power plant to keep the lights on, as a lack of wind generation and nuclear power outages drive prices to a record high.

Watch out for the UK. Inflation has exceeded 10%, the highest among the G7 countries, and is expected to rise further by the end of the year.
