James Franco is already hinting at his return to the cinema after accusations of sexual assault

James Franco will return to the cinema after several accusations of sexual harassment against him in 2018. According to the media Entertainment Weekly, the film in which Franco will star will be “I, you”, which is based on the novel You, my, from Italian Erri de Luca.

The story takes place in the fifties of the last century. It will tell the situations of Marco (Tom Hollander), a young Englishman who, while on vacation with his family, meets hunter Marco (the role assigned to Franco) and Kaya (Daisy Jacob), an enigmatic young survivor of the Holocaust.

Franco’s participation in this film, a period film directed by Swedish director Pelle August (the 1989 Academy Award winner for Pelle the Conqueror), will apparently see his return to the big screen. That’s after 2018, five women accused him of sexual assault. The joint case was resolved in 2021 through an out-of-court settlement, reports the portal 20minutos.es.

“In 2018, there were some complaints from me and that article about me, and at that time I just thought, ‘I’m going to shut up, I’m going to keep stopping,’” Franco explained last December, during an interview on SiriusXM. Say anything. There were people who resented me and I needed to listen.”
