Italian Bel Canto participates in the Cartagena Music Festival – Prensa Latina

According to the creative team, the celebration will run until July 5 in a mixed and mixed format and will include live, televised and streaming concerts, dedicated to highlighting relevant moments in opera history.

The general director of the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra, David Garcia, has invited fans of the genre to participate in the meeting, where a young and excellent representation of the group will be shown “with a beautiful repertoire describing four centuries of El Bel Canto”.

The first day of the event includes the 17th Century Musical Congress and Opera: From Monteverdi to Handel, by the composer, pianist and musicologist Giovanni Petti, known as one of the best music lecturers in Italy.

The appointment in its current call runs from 2021 to 2022 to pay tribute to the European country’s musical traditions, with performances of some of the classics by history’s greatest composers.

Since its inception, the festival has provided opportunities for students, directors, and artists, while building a strong body of instruction through assignment master classes, lectures, and other curricular activities.

With previous editions of XIV, the event has become an international standard that has made Cartagena as a destination for music tourism.
