Iberdrola starts a media campaign for its customers to reduce consumption and save bills

Iberdrola has launched a media campaign to help its customers reduce their energy consumption and save on bills, the company said.

Through this initiative, the company seeks to educate the community that “the best energy for customers and for the planet is the one that is not being consumed”, especially in the current context created by high gas prices.

Through this campaign, the company hopes to send a total of 90 million calls with personalized saving advice to more than 11 million electricity customers during the fall and winter months, when energy consumption is higher due to lower temperatures. Gas in Spain.

Iberdrola has already posted six million messages and verified that customers who received these notifications reduced their consumption by approximately 5% compared to the same period the previous year.

The company makes personalized recommendations thanks to an intelligent algorithm that estimates the energy consumption of household appliances, heating and lighting and compares it with other homes with similar characteristics, allowing to detect inefficient usage habits.

Customers then receive individual information on the cost involved in their bill, the deviation from the mean, and an estimate of the savings that can be obtained by following Iberdrola’s efficiency advice.

Most communications will be sent through the free Iberdrola app, as 60% of their customers are digital.

However, the company will also publish these tips via email and on a paper invoice to ensure they are received by anyone, especially the elderly.

Iberdrola has also created a specific web page with 50 practical tips to reduce consumption and will pass it on to the entire community with messages in digital and written media, accompanied by a QR code with direct access to this site.

The group has launched similar campaigns in other countries where it has business, such as the United Kingdom and Portugal.
