Until July 28, the House of Science is hosting the interactive exhibition “From Plane to Scale” aimed at families. It is an exhibition in which engineering, design and architecture intersect, and it also allows visitors to participate in creating new works, with the materials, resources and incentives that are provided to them in the exhibition hall itself.
Specifically, prototypes of models designed by House of the Void and made by children from architecture schools in Pamplona and Logroño will be on display during this session.
Culture Advisor Rosa Fernández inaugurated the exhibition on Tuesday in a ceremony attended by the Director of the House of Sciences, Dolores Fernández, and the authors of the exhibition, Eder Holgado and Pablo Lamas from “La House of the Void”, an architectural school for children that since 2011 has implemented educational projects and installations in schools, museums and cultural centres.
“From level to volume” suggests “a light and simple architecture, where nature and man are in balance,” Fernandez explained. The consultant noted, “The exhibition includes a maze of models made from natural and unconventional materials, such as jute, rattan, latex and dried fruits, and it invites us to enter a space where creativity can be seen in every corner of the room.”
“Visitors who wish to do this will be able to participate in the creation of new works, using materials, resources and incentives that will be available to them in the same room,” the consultant noted.
The goals of the School of Architecture are to use three dimensions as a means of understanding the environment, build models at different scales, work on the transition from level to scale, explore the possibilities of engineering, enhance creativity, as well as experiment with unusual innovative materials in everyday use.
Complementary activities
The House of Science is hosting a series of complementary activities to the exhibition: the “From Plane to Volume, Drawing Music” concert, which will be held on Friday, June 28 at 7 pm, outside the House of Science, and a guided visit with the exhibition’s authors, on Saturday, June 29 at 12:30 pm. .

The songs “Continuing Point”, “Paul Klee’s Active Line”, “Static Structures” or “Three Notes, Triangle”, among others, will be performed by their authors, who will also guide the audience in this experience. The music will be performed by Eder Holgado, voice, accordion and percussion, and Pablo Lamas on keyboard and synthesizers.
For drawing, chalkboards and paper tables will be provided, but anyone who wishes can bring their own materials. It is an activity targeting all audiences: boys and girls, youth and adults.
