Forest fires destroy 260 hectares of forest in Vietnam

The government statement calls on ministries and localities to continue taking strict and effective measures to prevent and combat forest fires, as well as to strengthen awareness campaigns on this issue.

It also directs the relevant authorities to strictly control residents' use of fire in and near forests, and to strictly manage those actions in which the use of flame poses a high risk of causing fires.

The Vietnam National Hydrometeorological Center warned that the heat wave will continue to hit many locations in the coming days, so the risk of forest fires will remain high.
