Drthere. (AFP) – The United States was crowned three-time CONCACAF Nations League champion by defeating Mexico 2-0 last night in the final of the 2024 edition, which was held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tyler Adams scored the first goal of the match in the 45th minute with a powerful mid-range shot that hit the right post of Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa. Giovanni Reyna scored the second goal in the 63rd minute.

The Americans will repeat the title after winning the first two editions of the tournament in 2020 and 2023. In the third place match, thanks to a stunning goal by Dexter Lembekissa, Jamaica beat Panama 1-0 on Sunday and secured third place in the 2024 CONCACAF Nations League.

The Jamaican winger scored the only goal of victory over Panama in the 42nd minute with a wonderful individual effort in which he cut off his defender from the balcony of the area with a bicycle and fired a shot with his left foot into the upper corner.

Panamanian Jose Rodriguez had the best chance to equalize before half-time but his powerful shot was blocked by goalkeeper Andre Bleck.

With this victory, Jamaica finished third in the Nations League for the first time in the competition in the quarter-finals.

For its part, Panama, which lost 3-0 to Mexico on Thursday, presented another poor attacking performance against Jamaica and was eliminated from the final round without scoring a goal. The team, led by Spaniard Thomas Christiansen, ranked fourth in the championship for the second edition in a row.
