Cuba is present at the 1st CARICOM Heads of Government Regional Meeting on Climate Change

Today, Politburo Member and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz expressed Cuba’s will to prioritize actions to counter the effects of climate change, as well as affirming contribution to valuable international cooperation to achieve this goal.
This was highlighted at this first regional meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government to be held from Tuesday in the Bahamas with a view to the next United Nations Convention on Climate Change, scheduled for November in Egypt.
In his address, the Cuban Prime Minister conveyed a greeting from our President, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermúdez, conveying the appreciation and gratitude of the people and the Government, for the firm position of respect, support and solidarity for the nations of the Caribbean towards our homeland, including before the intense incident at the base of the supertanker Matanzas.
The first regional meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government, which began on Tuesday in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, ahead of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, constitutes an appropriate space for coordinating efforts, in pursuit of the most effective solutions in the field of climate change.
