Buenos Aires, July 29 (EFE). – Former President and current Vice President of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, on Friday welcomed Colombia’s Vice President-elect, Francia Marquez, who is beginning a two-day visit to Buenos Aires as part of a tour of several countries in South America before taking office on August 7.

Fernandez wrote on Twitter, who greeted Marquez in his Senate office, where he was the owner.

After this meeting, the Vice President-elect will go to the nearby Patria Institute, a laboratory of Kirchnerian ideas, to participate in the “Peoples Always Returns” activity.

Next, he is scheduled to be received by Argentine President Alberto Fernandez; Colombian official sources said that today’s agenda will culminate in the evening with an honorary dinner in the Senate.

The well-known activist, Marquez, who on August 7 will become the first African-American woman Vice President of Colombia, in the government headed by the leftist Gustavo Petro, began this week’s trip that already took her to Brazil, where she held meetings with former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and representatives of the movement Brazilian black, and to Chile, where it was received by President Gabriel Borek.

After passing through Buenos Aires, the next and last stop will be La Paz. There, on Sunday, there will be an activity with the Bolivian Vice President, David Chuquihuanca, and on Monday it will end with a multinational meeting with the social organizations of indigenous and peasant women. EFE
