The Cicese Master of Science in Advanced and Integrated Technologies, an interdisciplinary program approved in 2020, has been accepted into the National Postgraduate Program for Quality (PNPC) SEP-Conacyt in the Modern Establishment Method, by which the nine postgraduate programs are validated Ten for the center in this standard of excellence.
Alejandro Galávez Moqueda, Foreign Unit Researcher and Teacher Coordinator, noted that the program will open at the end of August in the foreign units of Monterrey and Tepic.
He said that although there was no face-to-face promotion at universities and institutes of technology, 14 applications had been received, of which only eight were approved.
He commented that being part of the PNPC is important because since 1991 this standard has recognized the quality of graduate programs offered by Mexican institutions of higher education and research centers through a rigorous evaluation process.
When this program was created, we practiced knowing our strengths and what our weaknesses were; But also, the proposal passed through the various collective bodies of Cicese and there they gave us feedback that helped us fine-tune the project, the academician explained.
He also mentioned that at the time of the application in the PNPC call, we came up with a good analysis of the strengths and opportunities of the project and confirmed that this is part of our strengths.
Galávez Mosqueda indicated that it could not be published in person due to health conditions, however, events were held with the universities that were contacted and 14 applications were received, eight of which were accepted, and he considered that this is the first call. Given that financial support for the Conacyt scholarship was not guaranteed, it was a good result.
Fortunately, with the teacher listed by the PNPC, we can now access the Conacyt Scholarships, like the rest of the Cicese programs; He explained that the final number of scholarships for this generation will depend on the mission that Kunsett has undertaken.
Regarding the authority that the new teacher will have in the PNPC, he said it is five years, because when submitting a proposal for admission or renewal, the evaluation committee gives authority depending on what is necessary for evaluation in the short, medium or long term.
Finally, he noted that although this is specified, classes in the new graduate program will begin on August 30. The default method or direct method will be selected along with Cicese DEP.
