Comprehensive strategic cooperation with China is a priority for Vietnam

This was confirmed here by the Vietnamese Foreign Minister, Bui Thanh Son, who confirmed that relations between the two parties and countries are facing a new beginning with great advantages and potential for cooperation, especially after the visit to Beijing of the Secretary-General of the Communist Party. In the dialogue, the Vietnamese foreign minister also suggested strengthening transport connectivity and resuming flights soon and completely, in order to facilitate travel and exchange of goods.

During the conversation the previous day, according to VNA news agency, Than Son urged both countries to respect each other’s rights and interests, in accordance with international law and especially the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. 1982.

In the same way, he urged efforts to maintain peace and stability at sea, so as to benefit the development of every country and as a contribution to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and in the world.

For his part, the Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister said that Beijing attaches importance to relations with Vietnam and is willing to work on building political trust through exchanges and contacts at all levels.

He stressed that Vietnam has become an important partner of China with a trade exchange of nearly 235 billion US dollars, and expressed his desire to further strengthen cooperation in economy, trade, investment, transportation linkage, culture, education and tourism.

Yesterday, Nguong Rong received Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Phu, who asked the visitor to accelerate his country’s entry of agricultural products from Vietnam and to restore the import of aquaculture products.

With regard to the issue of regional borders, the two sides agreed to continue coordination in managing and defending them, according to three legal documents in this regard and other relevant agreements, as well as speeding up the improvement and opening of new border gates.
