The data mobility specialist's shares sit half the price of June's placing as investors brace for a Q3 trading update.
Cirata (LSE: CRTA) shares were unchanged at 7.7p on Tuesday, leaving the AI-focused data mobility group valued at just £12.53m ahead of a Q3 trading update covering the period to September 2026.
The muted share price belies growing nervousness among investors, with the update landing roughly three months after Cirata raised £5.4m in a June placing priced at 15p a share, almost double the current market price, raising the prospect that the forthcoming numbers could disappoint those who backed the cash call.

Cirata's technology automates the transfer and integration of data into cloud-based analytics and AI platforms without downtime, positioning it to benefit from the broader rush among enterprises to feed live, well-governed data into AI systems. The company has pointed to rising demand for data resilience as a structural tailwind as more organisations deploy AI tools that depend on continuous, accurate data flows.
Proceeds from June's fundraise were earmarked to accelerate Cirata's sales pipeline and fund further development of its Cirata Symphony platform, underlining management's intent to capitalise on the AI adoption wave before rivals consolidate market share. The scale of the discount between the placing price and today's level, however, suggests the market has grown more cautious on near-term execution since the summer raise.
Attention now turns to the detail within the Q3 update, with investors watching closely for signs of pipeline conversion, contract wins and cash runway that could validate the investment case set out at the time of the placing. A soft update risks reinforcing the gap to the 15p fundraise price, while any evidence of accelerating sales traction could help narrow it.
