Tekcapital’s Guident strikes Florida college deal ahead of planned 2026 listing

Autonomous vehicle specialist Guident deepens its US education push as parent Tekcapital eyes a standalone listing.

Tekcapital (AIM: TEK) has told investors that its portfolio company Guident has agreed a partnership with Florida State College at Jacksonville to build a training programme for the autonomous vehicle sector, as the AIM-listed intellectual property investor continues to build out Guident ahead of a planned public listing.

There was no immediate share price reaction disclosed in the announcement, but the tie-up marks a further step in Guident's commercial expansion, with the firm's GuideOn remote monitoring technology now installed at the college's downtown Jacksonville campus, its sixth such control centre worldwide.

Guident specialises in remote monitoring and 'human-in-the-loop' oversight of self-driving vehicles, allowing operators to step in and support autonomous systems when required. Under the new arrangement, the company will help the college design a course teaching students and transport professionals how to supervise driverless mobility services, using the campus's own 'Olli' autonomous shuttle as a live training tool.

The announcement follows Guident's recent three-year contract extension with a waste management company for its 'watchbot' surveillance technology, and comes shortly after the business completed a $2 million fundraise in May 2026. Tekcapital executive chairman Dr Clifford Gross said the Florida deal extends Guident's operational reach while helping cultivate the skilled workforce that wider adoption of supervised autonomy will require.

Tekcapital said it expects continued revenue growth for Guident across mobility, robotics and public transportation markets, and reiterated that the business is working towards a public listing in 2026, which it believes could crystallise balance sheet value and widen the pool of investors able to participate in its growth.
