If you are reading this, you are most likely using Google Chrome as your browser. This is the most popular browser in the world, and it is worth highlighting some tricks in it that may go unnoticed. The following tips will help you a lot in your routine activities or tasks using Chrome, especially if you are a student.
1. Activate the “open all as before closed” mode
It is very common for your computer or laptop to turn off … or simply accidentally close Chrome, the point is that in any of these cases it can mess up all your open tabs and the information in it. If you closed the program completely, or your device turns off, follow these steps so that it doesn’t happen again:
- Click on the three vertical dots at the top right.
- Find “Settings”
- Then go to “On Open”
- Finally, set to “Open everything as it was before closing”.
- Done, the next time you open Chrome, you’ll have it exactly as you left it.
Note: This cheat will only work once the feature is activated. To restore tabs (with Chrome open), do it with the keys Ctrl + Shift + T which is described below.
2. Restore accidentally closed tabs
If you want to reopen accidentally closed tabs and you are inside the browser, simply press Ctrl + Shift + T keys to automatically open the last closed tab. You can repeat this trick several times to get back more than one tab at a time.

Create schedule groups
Sometimes it happens that there are too many tabs open in the browser, and to make this more organized, Google has a solution. You can separate a group of tabs into groups with specific names, which can make it easier for you to multitask. Follow the following steps:
- Right-click on the tab.
- Click on “Add tab to a new group”
- Give the group a name and you’re done. You can also remove them whenever you want.
4. Perform calculations using only the address bar
It’s not much of a puzzle, but this simple function can help you speed up the basic arithmetic operations you need. For this, you simply have to type the process in the address bar and review the result right below.
5. You can configure to ask where to save each file before downloading it
As a student, you will likely be downloading several files at the same time on more than one occasion, and you may be searching for these files to be saved to different locations. If you are interested in this function, just open the browser settings (in the same way as in the previous tricks), locate “Downloads” and finally activate to ask in advance.
6. Turn on sync in Chrome
This simple trick will allow you to keep all your online browser data across all your devices, including saved passwords and history. To do this, go to the browser settings, select “Google and You” and activate synchronization.
7. Make use of bookmarks
When you are browsing in a tab, look to the right side of the navigation bar. Click the star icon to save it as a favourite, and you can explore it later without having to do a new search. Later you will find them by clicking on the three vertical dots and then entering “Bookmarks”.
