London’s junior market delivered a familiar mix of sharp risers and heavy fallers this week, with a security-screening minnow leading the pack after a major overseas contract win.
The week’s big risers
Thruvision Group (AIM: THRU) was the standout, jumping around 80% after landing its largest contract in Asia to date. The people-screening specialist said the deal, worth more than £3 million, will see its systems deployed across several South-East Asian airports to screen staff and counter insider threats.
Sunda Energy (AIM: SNDA) climbed roughly 60% after its subsidiary secured a 10-year petroleum mining permit covering the Puka oil and gas field and the Oru prospect in New Zealand’s Taranaki region — clearing the way to restart production at Puka and drill the Oru-2 exploration well.
Strip Tinning Holdings (AIM: STG) rose about 50% after the automotive components maker won a £3 million grant from Innovate UK and the Advanced Propulsion Centre through the government’s DRIVE35 programme, earmarked to expand its UK manufacturing.
Strategic Minerals (AIM: SML) added around 34% as it began its largest continuous diamond drilling campaign at the Redmoor tungsten, tin and copper project in Cornwall, targeting 22,500 metres of drilling by the second quarter of 2027.
On the slide
Not everyone joined the party. Corero Network Security (AIM: CNS) fell about 23% despite strong half-year figures — revenue up 42% to $15.5 million and a swing to $2.6 million profit — as investors focused on a fall in cash to $2.1 million. 80 Mile (AIM: 80M) dropped roughly 34% after delaying drilling at its Jameson Land project in East Greenland to winter 2027, while Caledonian Holdings (AIM: CHP) slid about 24% following a discounted £612,000 fundraise.
The takeaway
It was a classic week for the small-cap market: company-specific catalysts — contracts, permits and grants — doing the heavy lifting rather than the broader economic backdrop. For readers tracking the junior market, the regulatory feed remains where these moves are first confirmed.
