The alliance between Donald Trump and Rupert Murdoch, the owner of the New York Post, seemed unbreakable, but one of the former president’s favorite newspapers drew strong criticism and described Trump as the same. “He doesn’t deserve to be president of this country again.”

According to CNN, this is the tabloid’s strongest criticism of Trump to date, which joins another quote from Murdoch, but in the Wall Street Journal, where he also launched himself against the former president after the attack on Capitol Hill.

The magazine called him “the president arrested on January 6” and praised Vice President Mike Pence. “The character is revealing himself in crisis, and Mr. Pence has passed his trial on January 6. Mr. Trump has completely failed his country.”

The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board said the evidence served as a reminder that “Trump betrayed his supporters.”

In office, he criticizes President Trump’s behavior during the outbreak of riots and “He sat watching TV, posting incendiary tweets and refusing to send help.”

For many, the move represents a sudden upheaval in Trump’s fortune, because in Rupert Murdoch he seemed to have a powerful ally, given his support for then-presidential candidate against Democrat Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

The Post focused on Trump’s arrogant attitude toward the security of his then-Vice-President, Mike Pence, who tasked him with certifying the election and rejected repeated pleas from the then-president to delay the process and annul the election.
