Investing.com – British shares closed lower on Thursday; The decline in , sectors pushed the indices down.

At the close in London, it lost 0.83%.

The best value for the session was Carnival PLC (LON:), which rose 1.48%, 19.80 points, to settle at 1.00 at the close. follow him severn trent PLC (LON :), which rose 1.25%, 38.00 points, to close at 3.00, and EasyJet PLC (LON :), which rose 1.13%, 6.20 points, to close at 556.60 points.

At the bottom of the index was WPP PLC (LON:) which fell by 4.75% or 50.00 points to close at 1.00. For its part, Associated British Foods PLC (LON:) lowered 3.96% and 68.50 points and closed at 1.00, while next one PLC (LON 🙂 lost 3.86% or 242.00 points to close at 6.00.

The Reds outperformed the Greens on the London Stock Exchange by 1,176 to 747, with 448 closing flat.

Shares in Severn Trent PLC (LON 🙂 rose to an all-time high, rising 1.25% at 38.00 to settle at 3.00.

Gold futures for April delivery were up 0.64%, or $12.30 an ounce. Among other commodities, crude oil futures for May delivery fell 4.83%, or $5.21, to settle at $102.61 a barrel, while Brent crude futures for June delivery fell 4.12%, or 4.59, to $106.85 a barrel.

GBP/USD settled down 0.10% to settle at 1.31, while EUR/GBP was down 0.71% at 0.84.

The dollar index rose 0.42% to 98.28.
