Netflix cancels youth series “Dreams on ice” after its first season

“Dreams on Ice” will not have a second season. The 10-episode series is from Lime Pictures, owned by All3Media, which has also produced three youth series for Netflix and is behind the unscripted Netflix format “Dance Monsters”, which was released on the platform in March 2021, after filming in Sheffield, UK.

A Lyme spokeswoman commented:There are currently no plans for a second series of dreams on ice. We are very proud of our show and its worldwide success. Sheffield was a great place to film and we look forward to returning to the city with future projects.

The series tells the story of 15-year-old skater Kayla, whose life in Canada is turned upside down when her twin brother, Mac, is accepted into a prestigious ice hockey academy and the family has to move to the UK. Heartbroken To see her parents prioritize her brother’s dreams over theirs, Kayla must find her place again on the ice and avoid being overshadowed by Mac’s star.
