Velosi boosted as new Middle East operation pulls in key contract

Monday, September 08, 2008

Velosi, the company that supplies asset integrity and HSE services to a number of major national and multinational oil and gas companies, has won a major five year General Inspection Services Contract with Saudi Aramco

The contract was won through Velosi's Saudi Arabian unit, which was set up late last year. It will run until the second quarter of 2013 with an option for it to be extended for a further three years.

As part of the agreement Velosi will provide inspection services for Saudi Aramco capital projects during the design, procurement and construction of industrial and non industrial facilities both onshore and offshore.

Elsewhere, Velosi said that Al Khafji Joint Operations (KJO), a joint venture between Aramco Gulf Operations and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company, had awarded it a $2.2 million two year contract for asset integrity services.

In Singapore, the PPL shipyard has awarded the company a contract worth $2.75 million for the assembly and installation of five new build jackup derricks, with the option for the contract to be extended to cover an additional three derricks.
