Valiant spuds first Don development well

Valiant Petroleum has announced the start of a seven well drilling campaign over its blocks in the West Don Field of the North Sea.
Chief executive, Peter Buchanan, said the Don Fields remained on target to deliver production to Valiant and its field partners during the first half of 2009 and that the latest move was an important milestone in the company’s journey towards first oil.
The first development well marks the start of joint development of the West Don and Don South West fields and efforts to bring them into full offshore execution. Valiant has a 17.275% interest in the West Don field and a 40% interest in Don South West field.
The company said it would issue a more detailed progress report on the Don Fields development no later than October 31.
