Stratex International hits new gold zone at Öksüt project in Turkey

AIM-quoted exploration group Stratex International today said it was prioritising further drill work in 2010 at its high-sulphidation gold discovery at Öksüt in Central Anatolia in Turkey.
The news comes as Stratex uncovered promising results from three new drill holes, with the best intersection stretching 42.35 metres and grading 2.03 grams per ton of gold from 4.75m.
The Öksüt project has been subject to further geological mapping, geochemical sampling, ground geophysics and trenching since Stratex signed a joint venture deal for the project with Centerra Gold in August 2009.
Stratex’s chief executive, Dr Bob Foster, said: “These drill results are very encouraging and further open up the potential for significant blind mineralisation below and beyond the currently known limits of the Ortaçam Zone.
“With these results indicating the significant potential of the Öksüt gold deposit, plus a newly defined geophysical target coincident with rock and soil geochemical anomalies, this is an exciting priority for continued drilling at the start of the 2010 season.”
