Scott Wilson targets another consultancy for growing metro operation

Thursday, July 24, 2008

Scott Wilson, the engineering consultancy, is making more inroads in the metro sector after agreeing a deal to buy consultancy firm Benaim for up to £5.5 million.

The deal comes just two months after Scott Wilson bought Terence Lee Partnership, a building services consultancy, for up to £1.3 million.

Benaim is a civil, structural and geotechnical specialist which designs high quality structures for the public and private sector. In the year ended 30 September 2007, it posted consolidated revenues of £5.56 million and a pre-tax profit of £1.1 million.

Scott Wilson and Benaim have collaborated extensively together on projects such as the East London Line and Malaysia's KLIA Express Rail Link.

Geoff French, executive chairman of Scott Wilson said the acquisition was part of the company’s strategy to enhance its capability in the metro sector.
