Discovery Metals gets promising results from Plutus prospect at Boseto project
12 November 2009
Australian mining group Discovery Metals has reported promising new drilling results from the Plutus prospect of its 100%-owned Boseto Copper Project in north-west Botswana .
The Plutus prospect currently contains an inferred mineral resource of 15.9 million tons @ 1.6% copper and 16.4 grams per ton (g/t) of gold at a cut off grade of 0.6% copper. Discovery is currently undertaking a bankable feasibility study in order to upgrade parts of the Plutus prospect to the indicated resource category.
Fifty eight new drill holes there have now confirmed the continuity and predictability of copper-silver mineralisation as well as the potential for higher grade zones within the Plutus resource. As with all other prospects at the Boseto Copper Project, the Plutus mineral resource remains open at depth.
Discovery said assay results had also been received from four diamond drill holes at the Quirinus prospect, which is located within 15 km of the Boseto project. These have also confirmed the presence of copper-silver mineralisation.
Discovery’s managing director, Brad Sampson, said: “The progression of the Plutus infill drilling programme represents important and systematic progress towards the completion of the bankable feasibility study for the Boseto Copper Project next year.”
