Russian authorities approve revised well schedule for Matra Petroleum

Matra Petroleum has received formal approval from Russian authorities for a revised work schedule that allows the next well on Arkhangelovskoe licence in Orenburg to be started in 2009.
Under the original licence terms Matra was required to start the well in 2008, however in November 2008 it applied for greater flexibility in commitment well scheduling
At that time Matra said plans for the second well at a crestal location on the Sokolovskoe field in the Arkhangelovskoe license were now advanced, with local approval and site leasing completed.
