Rockhopper Exploration looks forward to drilling programme in 2010

24 November 2009

Rockhopper Exploration, the North Falkland Basin oil and gas exploration company, today released its interim results for the six months to September 30, 2009, with year-on-year pre-tax losses fairly flat at £1.2 million.

Rockhopper is set to begin a drilling programme over its acreage in the first quarter of 2010 as part of a rig deal secured by its partner in the region, Desire Petroleum.

Recently the company raised £50 million to fund the costs connected with the drill programme and is now fully funded to drill two wells on its own and participate in three other wells.

Rockhopper’s chairman, Dr Pierre Jungels, said: “The next 12 months looks set to be the most exciting period of activity since Rockhopper was formed and we are looking forward to being able to report the results of our drilling activities during the course of 2010.”
