Renewable Energy Generation buys turbines for Goonhilly Downs repowering
02 February 2010
AIM listed alternative energy group Renewable Energy Generation has purchased six Vestas V80 2MW machines for its consented site at Goonhilly Downs in Cornwall.
The turbines are scheduled to be delivered to the site in July and the project is expected to be operational by late summer 2010.
The repowered wind farm is expected to produce approximately 30GWh of output per annum.
Commenting on developments, Andrew Whalley, chief executive of REG, said: “The six new turbines will almost triple output from the site, dramatically highlighting the improvements in technology made since the fourteen turbines they are replacing were installed in 1994.”
