Production dips for Leni Gas & Oil as work programmes continue

25 November 2009

Leni Gas & Oil, the AIM listed exploration and production company, saw its October production come in at 11,342 barrels of oil equivalent, down from 12,034 barrels in September.

Last month the company said it was expecting a production dip as maintenance work on all of its projects was carried out. Ongoing disruption has seen a production fall off from 16,103 barrels in August.

In Spain the company has embarked on a programme of upgrading to re-commission the gas processing facilities there and run re-completions to handle differential increased oil, gas and water production. This work should maximise current oil production and optimise the wells in advance of the next capital programmes.

In the Gulf of Mexico, work is also continuing on increasing production from Eugene Island, with third party mainline works now completed. The production schedule has since returned to near capacity. The next stage of Gulf of Mexico capital programmes is expected to be announced shortly.

Finally, in Trinidad, production expansion plans are currently being finalised in anticipation of new licence commitments commencing soon.

David Lenigas, the company’s executive chairman, said: “Looking ahead, the company forecasts the November production schedule to be similar to October with ongoing programmes in Spain and the Gulf of Mexico.”
