Patagonia Gold kicks off further drilling at La Manchuria in Argentina

10 November 2009

Patagonia Gold, the mineral explorer working in the Santa Cruz province of Argentina, has started an infill drilling programme at its La Manchuria gold-silver project.

The programme has been set up ahead of plans to complete a resource estimate for the 5,575 hectare project by the second quarter of 2010. La Manchuria, which consists of five mining concessions, is 50km south-east of Patagonia’s flagship Cap-Oeste gold-silver project. A recent upgrade of the Cap-Oeste resource gave it a combined total of 655,932 ounces of gold equivalent so far.

At La Manchuria, drilling has continued to intercept bonanza gold and silver grades, including 1.55 metres at 257.79 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 4,237g/t silver, in one of the drill-holes.

Separately, Patagonia has also started drilling on the Cap-Oeste South East prospect, which is located approximately two kilometres along strike and to the south east of the Cap-Oeste deposit.

Patagonia has delineated over 893,000 ounces of gold equivalent on its Lomada and Cap-Oeste projects in just 30 months since acquiring the Santa Cruz properties from Barrick Gold.
