Newport Networks signs major telco equipment deal

Newport Networks has completed negotiations over the supply of a broad range of its Border Gateway products to a major vendor of Next Generation Networks and solutions.
Newport said an OEM agreement had been completed and signed by both parties and that it anticipated substantial business arising from the deal. Revenue is expected to grow through 2008 with the main impact in 2009 and beyond.
The Newport technology was selected after comprehensive testing of performance, features and integration capabilities with core network elements, the company said.
Chief executive John Everard, said the agreement represented a major milestone for the company.
