Ithaca Energy positive on production levels from Jacky and Beatrice fields
10 November 2009
Production from Ithaca Energy’s Jacky field in the UK North Sea has exceeded 1.5 million barrels since oil began flowing in early April this year. The figures are ahead of previous estimates by independent consultants Sproule, and a new reserves report is now being drafted.
Ithaca has a 47.5% stake in the field, with Dyas UK holding 42.5% and North Sea Energy (UK) holding 10%. The figures mean that Ithaca has enjoyed net production of 0.713 million barrels so far from the field and is now on course to produce 5,000 barrels, net to itself, in the second half of the year.
Work has recently been completed on a Jacky water injection well which is expected to change production rates going forward. Some planned disruption to production during September saw rates from Jacky and the nearby Beatrice field come in at 6,296 barrels per day. Additional work in October also impacted on production, but the combined figure was better at 10,078 barrels per day.
The drilling rig Ensco 80 has now moved to the Beatrice Bravo platform where it will conduct workover operations on two currently shut-in production wells. Partners in the Beatrice Field, including Beatrice Bravo are Ithaca with 50% and Dyas UK with 50%.
