Baobab Resources kicks off new phase of scout drilling at Tete project

Baobab Resources, the iron ore, base and precious metals explorer working in Mozambique, has got underway with a scout drilling programme on parts of the Massamba Group area of its Tete magnetite-ilmenite project.
During 2009, Baobab has focused its attention on exploring the Massamba Group, which comprises a cluster of five prospects including Chitongue Grande, Chimbala and South Zone.
In September the company released a 47.7million ton inferred resource statement at Chitongue Grande and has now launched a 12,000m combined diamond and reverse circulation (RC) drilling programme to test the Chimbala and South Zone prospects over the coming year.
The programme has been designed to assess the 400 to 700 million ton exploration target interpretation over the wider Massamba Group.
Ben James, Baobab's technical director, said the company was pleased to have been able to get the scout drilling underway so quickly after the conclusion of the first exploration phase and before the start of the wet season.
“2010 will be an exciting year for Baobab as the Massamba project continues to develop and shareholders may expect a regular flow of news as results come to hand,” he said.
