International Oil & Gas Rig Count: October 2009

The latest international oil and gas rig count saw a small drop in numbers between October and September 2009, with the most recent year-on-year figures showing a fall of 113 rigs in operation.
In the US, the rig count for October 2009 was 1,044, up 35 on September 2009 but still down 932 from the 1,976 counted in October 2008.
Overall, the worldwide rig count for October 2009 was 2,271, up 68 one the previous months but down 1,247 from the 3,518 counted in October 2008.
