International Oil & Gas Rig Count: December 2009

 The latest international oil and gas rig count saw a small dip in numbers between December and November 2009, down 1 at 1,024 – and down 54 from the 1,078 rigs counted in December 2008.
The figures from oilfield services group Baker Hughes separate rig counts into “International” and “US & Canada” listings, as well as onshore and offshore locations.
The US rig count for December 2009 was 1,172, up 65 on the previous month but down 610 from the 1,782 counted in December 2008.
The worldwide rig count for December 2009 was 2,509, up 100 from the 2,409 in November 2009 but down 712 from the 3,221 counted in December 2008.
