Global Energy Development reports independently assessed reserves

Tuesday, March 28, 2006

Global Energy Development PLC, the Latin America focused petroleum exploration and production company, has announced that it had proved and probable reserves (2P) of 17.5 million barrels of oil and proved, probable and possible (3P) reserves of 67.5 million barrels at 31 December 2005, as assessed by the independent engineers Ryder Scott Company, LP.

The Company also said that two wells, the Tilodiran 1 and Macarenas 1 wells within the Rio Verde contract in Colombia had ceased production during the fourth quarter of 2005 due to casing failures and neither has contributed to production so far in 2006. Workovers to restore production on these wells are unlikely to commence until the second half of 2006 due to a shortage of workover rigs and necessary downhole equipment.

Global Energy Development expects 2006 production to be approximately 500,000 barrels of oil.
