EnCore Oil says Esmond gas storage may need a different engineering solution

EnCore Oil's much anticipated Esmond gas storage evaluation well in the North Sea has demonstrated that the project is more complicated than initially modelled and may require a diferent engineering solution than originally thought.

In a statement, EnCore Oil said preliminary pressure information suggests that the uppermost Esmond reservoir has not undergone any significant repressurisation, whereas the lower part of the reservoir has seen appreciable repressurisation.

Alan Booth, EnCore Oil's CEO, said;

"We will continue to work with Star Energy (the operator) to incorporate and understand the new data and their implications on the project."
