Digital Marketing Group upbeat on “excellent” interims

Direct marketing company Digital Marketing Group saw pre-tax profits rise 35% to £3.4 million in the first six months of the year and said it was cautiously optimistic about its prospects for the second half.
Revenues in the period to September 30, 2008, were up 20% to £26.5 million with the company crediting its strategic decision to focus on digital and data as well as evidence of the continuing shift in spend away from traditional media.
Elsewhere, the company also said it had settled all of its earnout liabilities relating to prior year acquisitions .
Ben Langdon, DMG’s chief executive, said the company’s success at leveraging its strong client base was evidence of the effective integration that had taken place over the last two years. “We are well placed financially to benefit from any consolidation that may take place in this industry,” he said.
